UGAISOA President's Remarks

Dear participant, there has never been a greater time to give than every time you do it. Uganda Aeronautical Information Services Officers Association (UGAISOA) has for the past 8 years been uplifting the wellbeing of the needy around Entebbe through donations in the areas of health. This year, I am excited to announce to you that we shall be promoting inclusive education for persons with visual impairment in Uganda. The cost of educational materials for the blind is too high for most Ugandan families to afford. As such, majority of children with visual impairment are not prioritized by some communities in education.

With your help through subscription and donations towards the 2022 Aviation Run, we hope to raise funds to purchase Slates & stylus, Special Papers for the blind, Education Sets for the blind, White canes, Braille machines, Balls for sports and Knee caps for blind school athletes to help them cope with education and sports ahead of the scheduled school opening in Uganda. Part of the proceeds will help sensitise the general public and policy makers through media about the gaps in the education response plan to COVID19 on children with visual impairment and campaign for quick amendment of the plan to include learners with visual impairment.

Join us this year in the largest single day aviation sporting event in Africa to support the cause and strengthen our moral duty to help those in need. The impact of your participation and donation will help keep 30,000 visually impaired students in school.

Thank you for your partnership in ensuring inclusive education for persons with visual impairment in Uganda.
